MOUNT VERNON — Virginia Marie Mosley, 93, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Searcy Health Care in Searcy, Arkansas.

She was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Licking County, to the late Charles and Mabel (Shepherd) Barrick. Marie, as she was commonly known, retired from the Buckeye Mart which was located here in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church where she was active in youth fellowship and served as a counselor.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gerald) Kyle; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Weisent; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Mosley; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Barrick, Don Barrick; and her sister, Wilma Buckingham.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Mosley; her sons, Robert Williams, Leonard Mosley; and two sisters, Dorothy Melick and Wanda Councell.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow beginning at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Ernst officiating. A private burial will be held in Mound View Cemetery.
