HIGHLAND — In a final tune-up before the regular season kicks off Friday, the Highland Scots girls soccer team played to a 2-2 draw Monday at home against Mansfield Senior.

“It was good to see we made lots of improvements since our last scrimmage,” coach Matt Mosher said. “We have a lot of freshmen, so we are still trying to figure out where to put them and how to make it all work together, but we did some good things.”

The good things started early with the Scots striking first off the foot of Riley Kemmer to give the team a 1-0 lead. Mansfield reversed the flow of the game, knotting the score at one apiece in the first, before finding the back of the net again late into the 40-minute period to take a 2-1 lead.
