FREDERICKTOWN — Several roads will be down to single-lane traffic for paving in downtown Fredericktown.

Village Administrator Bruce Snell said Columbus Road, Mound Street, Mount Vernon Avenue and East Sandusky will be maintained as single-lane through at least Wednesday. Work crews with contractor Ambry Asphalt are starting to mill away the old pavement today, Snell said.

“Unfortunately, these are all main streets and we know it will be inconvenient,” Snell said. “We are hoping to have it completed by Wednesday in time for the start of school Thursday.”

Snell said while it is hoped the project will be completed by Wednesday, it may go into the weekend, depending on the weather and any unforeseen circumstances.

The project will resurface the roadways, with the old asphalt milled down several inches and a new coat of asphalt applied.
