MOUNT VERNON — True Americana art is on display during the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival, in the form of the quilt show, which began Friday afternoon and runs until Sunday afternoon at Hunter Hall on South Main Street.

The show has existed for 35 years, according to current chair Sandy Maricevich. The show presents ribbons for quilting, she said, with two viewers’ choice ribbons, as well as a raffle winner, being presented at the conclusion of the show, Sunday at 4 p.m.

The quilt show allows the Knox County quilting guild to show off their impressive stitching, which impacted Tom and Marty Schetzel so much during last year’s show, that they recommissioned a quilt which was presented Friday afternoon. It was quilted by Robin Jordan, who runs the Thread White & Blue quilting business.
