MOUNT VERNON — Lawrence “Larry” Huffman, 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 4, 2018. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Cavallo, to the late Harold and Mary Evelyn (Parsons) Huffman.

Larry went to Amity High School and Howard High School. He owned and operated Larry’s Sales and Service Appliance Store for 38 years. He loved motorcycles and traveled all over America. Larry was a life member of the GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association), Gold Wing Chapter Y, member of the NRA, and Boy Scouts #370 of the Gay Street United Methodist Church. Larry also loved to hunt, fish and the outdoors. Most of all Larry loved being around his family and grandkids.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Scott) Huffman; children, David (Denise) Huffman, Dennis (Carol) Huffman, Denise Cumbie, JoEllynn (David) Crowthers, Susan (Bill) Finlaw, Lisa (Brian) Messer; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon (Jim) Reiheld; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, John and Merle Huffman.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date.
