COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Konner Daughriety, a local 12-year-old, has broken a home run record set in Cooperstown by MLB all-star Bryce Harper when he was the same age.

“You just try your best and have some fun,” Daughriety said of performing on a big stage.

Daughriety, as a member of Ohio Elite Larison out of Columbus, headed for Cooperstown to compete in Week 7 of the All-Star Village World Series July 14-20. Fifty-two of the top teams from around the country, including 17 teams who made the trip from California, competed in the week of baseball, which included skills competitions and a week full of baseball games.
