FREDERICKTOWN — Earlie Junior Combs, 81, of Fredericktown, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, with his loving family at his side.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1936 in Honaker, Virginia, to the late Earlie and Bessie (Honaker) Combs. Junior, as everyone knew him, worked for PPG for over 30 years until he retired. He enjoyed animals and taking great care of his lawn. He loved the holidays and would decorate the house with lights for everyone’s enjoyment. Junior was a well-known contractor and built many homes and structures in the Knox County area. He especially enjoyed crafting fine furniture in his wood shop. Junior and his wife, Joyce, attended the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.

Junior is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Joyce (Knight) Combs; his son Bill (Beth) Combs; two grandchildren, Ross (Emily) Carter, Shawn (Desirée) Martin; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Christian Carter, Caleb Carter, Willow Martin; and three sisters, Elizabeth Randall, Ann Newton and Betty (Bill) Bates.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Grassbaugh; and his sister, Mary Alice Gable.

Friends may call on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, from noon-2 p.m., at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. The service will follow beginning at 2 p.m., with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will be held in Forest Cemetery.
