MOUNT VERNON — Because of the traffic backups on Chestnut Street resulting from the closing of East High Street, changes have been made to the lights at Park Street and McKenzie Street, Street Superintendent Tom Hinkle reported.

He said the lights at Park and Chestnut have been reset for a longer cycle for the through traffic on Chestnut going out Coshocton, and the McKenzie light has been set on flash.

The McKenzie light will return to normal once school opens, but it is hoped that High Street will be reopened before then.
