EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada — Mount Vernon’s T.T. Crouch missed the cut by one stroke at this week’s PGA Tour Canada event, the Syncrude Oil Country Championship presented by AECON on Friday.
Crouch was above the cut line for much of the day after finishing his round with 2-over par 73, but late-day players passed him to put the cut line at 1-under par. Crouch finished in a tie for 65th place.
He started his round on the No. 10 hole, and fired a birdie to go to 1-under for the day. After a bogey on No. 12, he went back to 1-under another birdie on No. 13, but gave that stroke back with a bogey on No. 14. He made the turn at 1-over par by bogeying No. 18.
Crouch’s luck continued to leave him as he bogeyed the No. 1 and No. 3 holes on the front nine to go to 3-over for the round. A birdie on his final hole, No. 9, put him in position to make the cut.
George Cunningham carded a 7-under 64 on Friday, and holds first place with an 11-under 131. Matt Marshall and Brinson Paolini each shot a 6-under to earn a tie for second place at 9-under 133.
