MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Breastfeeding Network participated in “The Big Latch On” event on Friday in support of Breastfeeding Awareness Month, welcoming breastfeeding mothers to participate in the event at the Education Resource Center.

To help kick-off Breastfeeding Awareness Month every year, there is a worldwide event called “The Big Latch On” (this year on Aug. 3) where breastfeeding mothers “latch on” at 10 a.m. The event is meant to show support and solidarity among those breastfeeding, and for those who support breastfeeding.
