MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Commissioners Thursday approved the placement of a levy for Children Services for the Nov. 6 ballot.
Commissioners approved a resolution for the 1.3-mill, 10-year replacement levy in regular session Thursday. It will go on to the board of elections for final approval.
The levy will raise an estimated $1,793,400 for Children Services, according to a certificate by the Knox County Auditor. As a replacement, it will update the value of property taxes to 2018 levels; currently, the levy is collecting at property tax values from 1998.
