CENTERBURG — A commercial truck driver who crashed on U.S. 36/Ohio 3 Tuesday morning has been issued a citation for failure to control, according to Sgt. Troy Sexton with the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Steven Braden, Florida, was headed southwest on U.S. 36/Ohio 3 when he exited the roadway. The crash was reported to the Mount Gilead State Highway Patrol at 11:04 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle struck a small structure which officers on scene said was empty at the time of impact.

Sexton said that reports indicated that Braden did not exhibit signs of impairment and noted that the trucking company was insured.

Braden was taken to the Knox Community Hospital with minor injuries. A spokesperson for the hospital said that Braden was treated and released. No other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported.

ODOT temporarily diverted traffic off U.S. 36/Ohio 3 in order to remove the truck. The roadway was reopened Tuesday afternoon.
