Cumberland Run, a country band from Nashville, will be performing Saturday at 7:30 at the Schnormeier Event Center in Ariel-Foundation Park.

MOUNT VERNON — The next event in Ariel-Foundation Park’s 2018 free concert series will be held Saturday and will feature Cumberland Run at 7:30 p.m. in the Schnormeier Event Center. The Derek Posey Band will open the evening at 6 p.m.

Cumberland Run is a country band from Nashville performing high-energy, fan-favorite music. First established in 2011, they burst onto the scene in 2014 as a house band on the Legendary Honky Tonks/Lower Broadway strip in Nashville at Margaritaville Now, they are on the rotation at three venues in Nashville including Margaritaville, Blake Shelton’s bar Ole Red, and the exclusive, world-famous Wildhorse Saloon after ranking into the Final Four of Wildhorse Saloon’s 2014 “Battle for the Saddle” competition.

Local act, the Derek Posey Band, will open for Cumberland Run at 6 p.m. The band consists of Derek Posey on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Jeff Hatch on lead guitar, Caleb McCoy on bass and vocals and David McCoy on drums. The band is the perfect blend of electrified country and Southern/classic rock, with influences including Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Strait, John Mellencamp, ZZ Top, Credence Clearwater Revival, and Woody Guthrie.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages may be brought into the Event Center. No alcohol, other than that purchased on site, will be allowed. Pets and smoking are prohibited in the event center and within the fenced area surrounding it.
