FREDERICKTOWN — Kenneth J. Carpenter, 75, of Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on December 16, 1942 in Barnesville, Ohio, the son of Kenneth E. and Nellie (McCracken) Carpenter. Kenny served in the United States Army 101st Airborne from 1960 to 1963.

Kenny was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Commonly referred to as “Pa” he will be missed by many.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Beverly (Chapman) Carpenter, whom he married June 27, 1964; two daughters; Kimberly (Bob Campbell) Alexander of Fredericktown and Lori (James) Stambaugh of Fredericktown; five grandchildren, AJ Alexander, Lance (Sara) Stambaugh, Kenlee (Tyler) Mulbay, Dalton Stambaugh and Calistia (KC) Preece; two great-grandchildren, Karsyn Stambaugh and Cirus Preece; his father; best friend and brother, John (Patty) Carpenter of West Virginia; and a sister, Bonnie Carpenter of Fredericktown.

Kenny was preceded in death by his mother.

A Celebration of Life service with military honors provided by VFW Post 8054 and Amvets Post #87 will be held on Sunday, July 29, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
