HOWARD — William M. Pillow, 77, passed away June 27, 2018, at Riverside United Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Bill was born Nov. 8, 1940. He was the son of Marion and Alice (Birdie) Pillow.

He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly. They raised four children and were married for 58 years.

Bill served in the United States Navy as a Second-Class Quartermaster. He proudly spent his service aboard the Destroyer, USS Gearing.

He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) as a Project Inspector.

During retirement, Bill continued with his years of experience, working for Buckeye Asphalt as a Sales Representative for owner and good friend, Mr. David Porter.

William is survived by his wife, Beverly; three sons, William Scott, Jeffrey (Julie), Michael (Nancy), and a daughter, Traci; sister, Sue (Rex) Atherton; sister-in-law, Barbara (Bob) Gilyeat. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, two great-children and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles (Jody), Robert (Ruth Ann); and a granddaughter, Riley Madison Clifton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, July 29, beginning at 2 p.m. in the Lasater Funeral Home, located at 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. A reception will follow after the service in the Lasater Family Center.
