MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon High School and Middle School golf qualifier dates have been set for the 2018-19 school year.

High school players (grades 9-12) will qualify starting Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard. Qualifying continues at Chapel Hill Golf Course at 10:30 a.m., and closes Friday, Aug. 3, at 8 a.m. at Hiawatha Golf Course.

There is a fee for the first two qualifying dates, and 18 holes will be played each day. For more information, call coach Anthony Savage at 740-398-5865.

Middle school players (grades 7-8) will play nine holes along with practice each day at Chapel Hill. Start times are 10:30 a.m. Aug. 1, 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 and 6:45 a.m. Aug. 3. For more information, call coach Brian Bridges at 740-403-8404.

Players must wear proper golf attire (collared shirts tucked in, no athletic shorts), and should arrive at the course early enough to prepare for golf (chip and putt, hit range balls, etc.). Players must provide their own clubs, balls, tees, divot tools, ball markers, etc.
