LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced recently that a record 174 NCAA Division III teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season. The Kenyon College Ladies were not only one of those teams, but made the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, reserved for programs with Top-25 grade point averages.

The AVCA academic awards program, initiated in 1992-93, honors both collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

For Kenyon, the AVCA Team Academic Award was the program’s second in the last four seasons. The Ladies were one of four North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) teams to make the grade this season, but the only conference club to crack the Top-25.

The 18 players on the 2017-18 Kenyon roster combined to post an amazing 3.45 team grade point average. The Ladies finished the season with a 15-11 overall record and fifth-place finish in the NCAC.
