MOUNT VERNON — It will probably be the end of August or the beginning of September before the firm of EMH&T completes the survey of the new portions of Ariel-Foundation Park so it can be annexed by the city.

City Engineer Brian Ball said at the weekly press briefing that he hopes to have everything wrapped up and the land annexed by the end of the year.

Ball contacted Josh Myer at EMH&T, who said difficulties have been caused by the inability to locate some of the old boundary markers and inaccuracies in old surveys. He said they will be at the park again in a week or two to try again to locate the markers, but if they can’t they will have to set new markers based on distances and bearings included in the old surveys.

He thinks they will have a report ready for the city by the end of August or early in September.
