MOUNT VERNON — An infusion of cash from the state of Ohio will help bring new jobs into downtown Mount Vernon and ultimately spur additional economic growth through the Area Development Foundation.

According to Jeffry Harris, ADF director, a $450,000 loan has been extended to SBC Hospitality LLC, from the Knox County Revolving Loan Fund.

“This gets him (owner David Stein) over the hump to complete the tap room and restaurant at the Woodward,” Harris told the News. “The loan will pay for improvements to the building and buy equipment for the restaurant and brewing company.”

Building “improvements” could be any cosmetic or any structural changes beyond the building’s current rehabilitation project, Harris explained.
