I think there’s a conspiracy to keep me from fishing. Between vehicle problems and oppressive heat, I’ve only been out twice in the last month and that’s not normal for me.

I’m supposed to fish Delaware Lake Sunday, but it is supposed to be raining, which is okay as long as that doesn’t mean thunderstorms. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Heat and sun actually aren’t too hard to cope with and I’ve mentioned the basics several times: Drink plenty of water, use good sunscreen and wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt if you can stand it. Concentrate on fishing in the morning or evening, or try fishing at night. Catfishermen find it productive and bass can be active at night, although I don’t care much for night fishing.
