Thomas W. Wilson
MOUNT VERNON — A common pleas court judge used a defendant’s criminal history to send him to prison Friday.
Thomas W. Wilson, 42, was sentenced by Judge Richard Wetzel to 17 months in prison on one count of domestic violence. The charge stems from Dec. 11, 2017, when Wilson struck a woman he was romantically involved with in the face with a table leg.
While out on bond, Wilson was arrested for going over to the woman’s residence, violating the terms of a temporary protection order.
Wilson is blind. The victim, reading from a statement in court Friday, said Wilson, “with his keen sense of hearing, (found) me and hit me … over and over.”
