MOUNT VERNON – In the second night of the Knox County Babe Ruth City Tournament, Kiwanis Club won its first game of the bracket to advance to the semi-finals of the winner’s bracket.

Kiwanis and Rotary were originally supposed to play Tuesday, but due to weather, each day of the tournament was pushed back one, creating the Wednesday night matchup.

Rotary had two hits in the top of the first but could not capitalize. Kiwanis came out firing on all cylinders, pouring on eight runs in the first inning. The squad amassed eight hits in the frame, including two doubles, both by Sam Printz, who had four RBIs in the first.
