MOUNT VERNON — The Llamas R Us 4-H Group, with animals from McFarland’s Farm, visited the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus on Wednesday for an afternoon of fun for both residents and visitors with “A Day at the Fair.”
Cindy Ruckman, owner of McFarland’s Farm and head of the Llamas R Us 4-H group, told the News on Wednesday that they have been coming to the CCRC for a long time. Around 10 years, confirmed Barb Snow, CCRC activities assistant. Ruckman said that her 4-H group, which has been around for over 20 years, has done nursing home visits consistently over the years throughout 4-H season, and her farm does visits year-round.
“There are so many great reasons” for doing the visit days with the animals, said Ruckman. First, it’s “to put others in front of yourselves.”
