MIDDLEBURY TOWNSHIP — Two Columbus men died after a single-car crash on Yankee Street Saturday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

William Fontaine, 21, was driving a 2012 Nissan Juke eastbound on Yankee Street, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and went off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck an embankment, overturned and struck a utility pole. Fontaine, and passenger Jaylen Foster, 21, were both ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest on the roadway.

Both men were transported to Knox Community Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the crash, according to OSHP’s press release.
