CENTERBURG — News of a new recreation park coming to Delaware County and a distribution center in Morrow County means now is the time for Centerburg to start preparing for a lot of people moving in to the area and to focus on the “big picture,” according to councilperson Tom Stewart.

“We need to be prepared for a lot of people trying to get in to the area, and when developers go to an area, they find a place that has the fewest rules and the fewest roadblocks to them building things and getting it done quickly,” Stewart said in roundtable discussion. “So I think we need to be concerned for these things coming in, because we’re going to be right in the middle of it. We’re going to be spending more money — should be spending more money on planning for what’s going to happen to this village. I just think we need to start thinking about the big picture now. I’ve talked to a few people [in Delaware] and not everything is concrete yet — but I still think we have to be prepared.”
