MOUNT VERNON — Coming in as the No. 1 seed team in the Mount Vernon Girls’ Softball League tournament, Benchmark Cabinets was all business — and also a lot of fun. The team was able to display a never-quit attitude in the 5-4 win over Complete Comfort Sunday.

“The girls did not quit,” said Benchmark Cabinets coach Rahn McCluskey. “We told these girls at the beginning of the season to play all six innings. Get all three outs and play the entire game, one pitch at a time and one hit at a time. And the girls did it. They love to play ball, you can see it when they go out there. They enjoy what they do, and all like each other.”
