MOUNT VERNON — Josephine Diehl, 102, of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2018, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.

She was born March 28, 1916, in Bangs, to the late John and Myrtle (Spangler) Myers. Josephine was employed at Kresge’s Dime Store and retired as a secretary for the Federal Land Bank Association. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 136. She was a big sports fan, rooting hardest for The Ohio State University, and she loved to travel.

Josephine is survived by her niece, Eileen Diehl of Mount Vernon; her caregivers, Linda Doup, Carolyn Conkle, Norma Simpson and Vickie Marra; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Diehl; her brothers, William and Ralph Myers; and her sister, Elsie Ryan.

Friends may call on Monday, June 25, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Warren Outhwaite officiating. Burial will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
