MOUNT VERNON — The board of the Knox County Educational Service Center held its monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon and approved many actions.

The brief meeting touched on important aspects for the ESC, including the Treasurer’s consent agenda, which approved bills, payroll, budget and cash reports.

The board also approved Treasurer Brittany Keller’s recommendation for the Hylant Group for the KCESC liability, auto, pollution, cyber and violence policies for the 2018-19 school year; effective July 1 at an annual rate of $8,762, which is a $169 increase over last year.

The board also approved the following recommendations from Superintendent Timm Mackley:

•2018-19 Preschool Staff Handbook;

•2018-19 annual dues payment to the BASA Association of School Administrators;

•2018-19 annual dues payment for membership in the Ohio Educational Service Center Association;

•2018-19 annual dues payment for membership in the Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy;

•2018-19 contract with the Mount Vernon City Schools;

•2018-19 Title I Services Agreement with East Knox Local Schools for students attending St. Vincent

•2018-19 annual dues to the Knox County Family and Children First Council.

The following personnel recommendations were approved by the board:

Resignations — Constant Faith, psychologist; Tonya Wickham, preschool teacher; and Christine Wooden, courier.

Employments — Salaried preschool aides: Denise Bethea, Hanna Douglas and Danielle Knecht.

Hourly substitute aides — Kelly Clark, Chassidy Faucett, Seth Gilmore, Marea Guillermo, Regina Ham, Vicky Harris, Kristi Lowe, Anthony Shore (2017-2018 school year) and Rebecca Wood.

Salaried aides — Holly Grimmer, David Olk and Renee Runyon.

Hourly bus aides — Holly Grimmer, Delaine Haywood and Suzanne Murphy; with Kari Talbot as an hourly substitute bus aide as needed.

Learning center receptionist (hourly) — Chanity Igou.

Courier — Karen Peacock.

Suspension alternative program (hourly) — Kari Talbot.

Substitute teachers — Rebeka Richendollar and Anthony Shore.

Supervisor — Ben Snedeker, crisis prevention intervention instructor.

Summer employment — Kris Kitzler, Anthony Shore and Jordon Smith.

Summer Aide employment — James Hanna, Channity Igou, Anthony Shore, Kari Talbot and Adrianna Trace.

Candidate of Vision Specialist — Deb Ornelas.

The next meeting of the Knox ESC will be July 18 at noon in the ESC in the Knox Technical Center at 308 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon.
