DELAWARE — Recently, members of the Kokosing Valley Jr. Anglers youth fishing club competed in the Ohio High School Fishing open tournament at Alum Creek sponsored by The Bass Federation and Student Anger Federation. Isaac Sigman and William Hux represented the club with Boat Captain David Slonaker. Jessiah Williams and Kyle Tipton also competed with boat captain Josh Bryant. There were 62 teams all over Ohio which competed at Alum Creek.

Hux and Sigman took first place with the “Big Bass” win with Hux’s largemouth bass weighing 4 pounds. The second-place team weighed in at 3.14 pounds.

The top five teams of the tournament will go to Florence, Alabama, to fish in the National Tournament this month. None of the teams qualified for the National Tournament but this tournament was the first award the Kokosing Valley Jr. Anglers club has earned.

Both Hux and Sigman were awarded a Quantum Bait Casting Reel valued at $160 for their Big Bass title from the tournament director.

The club will compete at Rocky Fork Lake near Hillsboro in August for the Ohio Bass Federation youth state tournament and later in September at Alum Creek, also sponsored by the Ohio Bass Federation.
