Bike trail link starts Monday

Work should begin Monday morning on the short bicycle trail segment from the old railroad trestle, behind Creno’s and to the small bridge over Dry Creek, City Engineer Brian Ball reported at the mayor’s weekly press briefing Friday.

Rabid bat confirmed

A bat acting strangely in the middle of the day outside of a 100 block South Main St., Fredericktown business Monday has been identified as rabid — the fist case of rabies in Knox County since 2012, according to a Knox County Health Department press release.

Paw Patch Quilt Shop, located at 444 Columbus Rd., has been collecting donations for the Guatemala-based organization Small Change 4 Big Change to help those affected by the recent Volcano Fuego eruptions in Guatemala, with two Knox County natives in Guatemala lending hands-on assistance as well.
