FREDERICKTOWN — Coming off a tournament championship, the good vibes didn’t last long for the Mid-Ohio Blaze 11U team.

The Shelby Bombers scored nine runs in the first inning of their first game Thursday, cruising to a 9-1 victory over the host Blaze at Sockman Park.

The Blaze found their groove defensively after the first inning, allowing no more runs to be scored, and their bats also came alive.

Dalton Lang, Luke Overholt, Kaine Sheriff, Colton Petry, Blake Sipes, Karter Harris and Cole Cuffman all got bats rolling after the second inning, but only managed to earn one run from an RBI by Sheriff.
