MOUNT VERNON — A confusion of wiring and air ducts hang from the ceiling, the carpetless floors reveal the location of walls from earlier in the building’s existence, fluorescent lights still hang from the wires; but progress is being made on the Mount Vernon Law Director’s new office on the second floor of the Plaza Building.

Law Director Rob Broeren gave the News a tour of the new offices Wednesday and explained how they will shape up. He hopes the project is done and his office can be moved across the hall to the new location by the end of summer.

The new office will have an entry room, where visitors can speak to the receptionist through a sliding glass window, and seats will be available for them to wait, instead of being almost on top of the staff as in the present office.
