MANSFIELD — The State Support Team Region 7 honored 40 students that were nominated by their schools for the Outstanding Achievement Award on May 8.

This award honors the outstanding achievements they have made and for their ability to overcome challenges. Student and educator award recipients include:

•Clear Fork Local Schools students: Wyatt Tollison, Bobbi Jo Fliger, Maddie Traxler, Paul Francisco and Tabitha Hamilton;

•Knox County Career Center student, Daniel Schoppelrei, and educator, Brian Enderle;

•Mount Vernon Local Schools Students, Troy Eric Clendenen and Omarion Culpepper.

Student nominees were selected based on the student’s outstanding characteristics and performance in academic subjects, the arts, extracurricular activities, community involvement, community service, independent living skills, transition skills, employment, social skills, and perseverance. Educators and educator teams were nominated based on going “above and beyond” in order to increase educational outcomes for students and demonstrate how they are able to collaborate with parents, service providers, and others to accomplish these outcomes.
