DANVILLE — Danville will be getting a new shop this weekend, with the grand opening of the Danville Gift Closet, located at 12270 Millersburg Road, Saturday.

Owner Jenn Furay told the News that the Danville Gift Closet will have a mix of merchandise, such as handmade items, vintage/upcycled furniture and items, and children’s consignments. The store will feature over 18 vendors, and Furay added that they are always looking to add more.

“I want to be an outlet in the community for local vendors and artists,” Furay explained, adding that a lot of the vendors are homeschool and foster moms.

Furay herself homeschools her nine children, who help her run the store along with her husband, Jeff.

The store also has a party room that can be rented out for family functions. Furay uses the room for the monthly canvas paint classes she offers. The classes are public, but she said she can also do private classes for interested groups, and she is open to having a mobile canvas class.

The grand opening will take place this Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. There will also be pop-up vendors and a food truck, as well as door prizes and raffles throughout the day. Furay added that one of the raffles is a quilt, and proceeds will go to Foster Threads.

Store hours will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed Sunday through Wednesday — it is also now handicap accessible, Furay told the News. The store will also list extra items on their website, danvillegc.com, as well as on Etsy and Facebook (named “Danville Gift Closet”). You can also reach Furay at 740-814-2882.
