MOUNT VERNON — For all the excitement that summer represents, road closures and repairs can be one of the most frustrating parts of the season. The Ohio Department of Transportation released information about all road closings for motorists who are commuting in an effected area. Current projects include:

U.S. 36 is restricted to one lane east of Pipesville Road in Howard Township for a bridge deck replacement. During construction, which is expected to continue through the end of September, there will be signalized lane closure.

Ohio SR 514 is closed to traffic east of Cross Street in Greer for a bridge deck replacement. Motorists can follow a detour from Ohio 520 to U.S. 62 to Ohio 514 and reverse for the duration of the project which is expected to be completed at the end of October.

•Pavement repair on SR 229 from U.S. 62 to U.S. 36 in Coshocton county and Ohio 715 from U.S. 36 to the Coshocton county line is expected to be completed by July 30. Traffic is currently being controlled with daily single lane closures. Additional pavement repair on Ohio 541 from Tunnel Hill in Coshocton County to Martinsburg in Knox County is expected to be completed “early to mid-July.” Traffic is currently being controlled with daily single lane closures and flaggers.

Public Information Officer for District 5, Morgan Overbey, asked that motorists remember the importance of slowing down and moving over for all roadside workers throughout the busy construction season.
