COLUMBUS — The unbreakable record just keeps getting broken.

The Fredericktown boys 4×400-meter relay team broke its own school record for the fourth meet in a row Friday. This time, it sets them up to be one of the top teams in the state.

The Freddies’ team of Alex Hamilton, Zayde Zolman, Paden Spencer and Cole Davis ran a 3:24.51 at the Division III state prelims, the second best time of the day, to qualify for today’s finals at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

“We broke the unbreakable record, then we broke that unbreakable record,” Zolman said. “We trust each other; all knowing that we’ll run our best. We do it for one another.”

The 4×400 wasn’t the only Freddie relay team to advance to today’s finals. The 4×100 team of Zolman, Hamilton, Colton Riel and Davis finished eighth overall in a time of 44.11 to make it to Saturday’s finals.
