• Nick Sabo/News Fredericktown Community Fire District board member Dick Kershner holds a sign at a joint meeting of the fire board and Fredericktown Community Joint Emergency Ambulance District Wednesday that he said represents persecution and intimidation for his vote against day time staffing.
  • Joshua Morrison/News The Fredericktown fire and EMS boards will talk May 30 to see where they are on the idea of merging the two departments. Homemade signs against a merger, not put up by either board, have cropped up around Fredericktown, including this one at the intersection of Ohio 95 (North Main Street) and Zolman Road.

FREDERICKTOWN — A third Fredericktown Community Fire District board member has resigned, citing “bullying” due to his no vote on day time staffing.

Mike Gearhart informed the News Thursday that he has notified the fire board of his resignation.

“I’m tired of the all the badgering and bullying and I’m tired of the signs,” Gearhart said. “All the bullying on the board to try to get those with a different opinion to change their minds; there’s no respect or integrity left there.”
