CENTERBURG — They couldn’t be much more different, but Centerburg High School’s Tyler Boales and Sarah Thatcher both have their sights set on the podium at the Division III OHSAA Track and Field Championships at Jesse Owens Stadium at Ohio State University this weekend.

Thatcher, a junior who stands at a little over five feet, will be running the 3,200-meter run. Her goal is to try to break 12 minutes. Boales, a 6-foot-1 senior sprinter, will attempt to break 11 — seconds, that is. After running the 100-meters in 11.01 seconds in the regionals at Lancaster last week, he feels he has a real shot at All-Ohio, and that’s not even his best event. He took first place in the 200-meter dash at regionals, and has a shot at getting on the podium twice.
