UTICA — This village on the border of Licking and Knox counties is not going to turn into the “city of lights,” but visitors will soon find a brighter, more attractive business district after dark.

Village Administrator Glen Richards said they are in the process of reviewing proposals for the installation of 10 new LED streetlights on Main Street (Ohio 13) between Mill and Spring streets.

There are currently only three conventional lights in that stretch.

The 120-watt, acorn-shaped lights will sit atop 12-foot fluted aluminum poles which will be painted black.

“The lights have a sort of colonial look to them,” Richards said.
