CENTERBURG — A haven for seniors, age 60 and up, in the Centerburg area has received a facelift and is ready to show it off with an open house.

Centerburg Senior Services located at the old high school 119 S. Preston St. in Centerburg, was recently updated and is now described by employees as “open and inviting.” In addition to the new surroundings, the senior facility now also boasts a new staff that is excited to serve senior residents living in Centerburg, Hilliar, Liberty and Milford townships. The facility will hold an open house for all ages Sunday, June 10, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Lisa Wilson, the new director for the center, explained that the goal of the open house is to show seniors and their children the progress Centerburg Senior Services has made, to learn more about the services they provide and to understand how the center can provide valuable resources to them or their parent.

“We want people to see that this is a cool area where they can relax and hang out and come in and socialize,” Wilson said. “I want seniors to know that there is someone here who cares about them and wants to help them in anyway we can.”
