FREDERICKTOWN — Robert “Bob” Garverick, 87, of Fredericktown, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born on Jan. 11, 1931, in Fredericktown, to the late Trent and Gladys (Conner) Garverick.

Bob went to Fredericktown High School and graduated in 1948. He became a Brick Mason and joined the Brick Layers Union and was a member for many years. In high school, Bob enjoyed art and photography classes and used those skills for the rest of his life. He loved to spend time drawing, painting and taking photographs. In his early years he enjoyed fishing and trapping. Most of all he loved being around his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dixie (Denman) Garverick; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Garverick; a son, Robert Trent (Shirley) Garverick; grandchildren, James Robert Garverick, Sheri Nordman; and great-grandchildren, Demetrius and Richard Nordman; a sister, Eileen Smith; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brothers, Dale and Gale Baker.
