MOUNT VERNON — Joseph R. Todd, 80, formerly of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, and La Mesa, New Mexico, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at Fort Bayard Medical Center in Santa Clara, New Mexico, due to cancer and Alzheimer’s dementia. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Mount Vernon to Ray M. and Mary A. (Cumbler) Todd.

Joe was a 1956 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, who went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as a journeyman mold maker at Lamb Glass, Diamond Bathurst, Mount Vernon, for 25 years and 21 years with Saint Gobain Containers in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, retiring in May 2003.

Joe is survived by his wife, Norma Jean (McMillan) Todd, whom he married Nov. 23, 1957 in Jalpa, Indiana. He is also survived by his son, Joe Todd (Carmen) of La Mesa, New Mexico; daughter, Marsha Budrow (Mike) of Warner Robins, Georgia; three grandsons, Michael Budrow also of Warner Robins, Georgia, NCO Justin Budrow (Tracy) of Seaside, California, Joseph Patrick Todd (Kelly) of Italy; two granddaughters, Brittany Budrow of Warner Robins, Georgia and Stephanie Todd (Sonja) of Alamogordo, New Mexico; four great-grandchildren, Mattison and Sawyer Todd of Italy, Dylan and Bradley Budrow of Seaside, California; two step-grandchildren, Jack Smithson (Marianda) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Felicia (Bunner) of Seattle, Washington; two step-great-grandchildren, Madison and Joel Smithson also of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his half-sister, Marjorie Jones; three half-brothers, Vernon, Jim and Bill Todd; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place and services will be held at a later date in Ohio.
