MOUNT VERNON — Lynn E. “Andy” Andrews, 97, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Merle and Beulah (Hall) Andrews. Andy moved from Grove City, Pennsylvania to Mount Vernon in 1958. He was employed and retired from Cooper-Bessemer after 43 years of service. Andy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972. He enjoyed sharing the Bible’s message with others. Known as a quiet and gentle family man, Andy’s greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Dorothy (Hoffman) Andrews; his son, Steve (Marcy) Andrews; his daughter, Cathy (David) Hatfield; 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Bosnic, Darcy (Ryan) Long, Kelly (Chris) Long, Seth (Leah) Hatfield, Aaron (Samantha) Hatfield, Joel Hatfield, Aimee (Curtis) Hulse, Ashlee (Scott) Kelley, Ryan Andrews, Tyler (Emily) Andrews; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Riegner, and his son-in-law, Bob Riegner.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 20, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 189 Mansfield Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050, with Mr. Warren McCord officiating.
