PAINSVILLE — James Ira Burr Jr., 68, passed away March 21, 2018, in Avondale, Arizona. He was born to the late James and Hazel Burr on May 20, 1949, in Painsville.

He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business from Marin College. He spent 37 years combined service between working as a jet mechanic in Vietnam as a Seargeant in the United States Air Force and working with the Veterans Administration.

A man dedicated to family and country, his service impacted many people and he was a father to more than just his sons.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of more than 20 years, Linda Ann Burr, and his step-son, Christopher Bellivean.

James is survived by his son, Thomas Burr; sisters, Faith Peterson, Patricia Graham and Linda Lefelli; and brothers, Nelson Burr and Jonny Burr.

Interment took place May 5 at Valley Cemetery.
