FREDERICKTOWN — Academic achievement was on full display at Fredericktown High School Thursday evening, as the school held its Senior Awards Night honoring the class of 2018. The event was held ahead of their graduation ceremony tonight.

The Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County was on hand to dispense their scholarships to the students. Program Manager Lisa Lloyd explained during the ceremony that the foundation has surpassed the $1 million mark, with $160,000 going to Fredericktown students and college alumni.

The foundation awarded the following scholarships:

Helen H. Cooke Scholarship — Graceson Clippinger, Lauren Davis, Ethan Dowalter, Brittney Ehret, Gionna Fowler, Reed Gould, Mariah Hurlbut, Rachel Laher, Molly Linhares, Brandon Main, Alta McKim, Jessica Small, Leah Turner and Bradley Wolford.
