MOUNT VERNON — Dean Charles Gauch, 71, of Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at The Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Dayton to the late Herman and Pauline (Friend) Gauch.

Dean was a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church. He was an Ohio State Buckeye football fan. Dean was an animal lover, especially his dogs and cats. He was a proud cattle farmer and was a supporter of Knox County 4-H.

He worked as a commodity broker after graduating from Murray Kentucky University in 1968.

Dean is survived by his sister, Jane (Robert) Shafer of West Alexandria; niece, Paula; nephews, Nicholas and Phillip; and many cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hitt Gauch.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
