HOWARD — School district essentials were approved during the regular meeting of the East Knox Board of Education Thursday evening.

The updated five-year financial forecast was outlined by Treasurer Jessica Busenburg, which projected a healthy balance within the district for the next few years. East Knox Local Schools currently have a budget in the black, with revenue outweighing their expenses. However, Busenberg predicted expenses, such as salary requirements for the staff, could go up in the years to come, but with unpredictable enrollment numbers it is hard to predict if the revenue will be less than the expenses.
