CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Trojans’ best softball season in a few years came to an end Tuesday with a first round, 8-4, Division III sectional tournament loss to their Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference rival, the visiting Mount Gilead Indians. The Indians, who led 7-0 after the top of the fifth, hung on despite the Trojans four-run, five-hit attack in the game’s final three innings.

“We got down early,” said Centerburg coach Tim Rioux. “We didn’t give up. We had a very good season. We had nine wins this year, which is more wins than we did the last three years combined.”
