MOUNT VERNON — Viola H. Brown, 97, of Mount Vernon, passed away April 30, 2018, at Country Court Nursing Home with her family by her bedside.

She was born June 17, 1920, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to the late Julius and Minnie (Krueger).

Viola was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Wilson and Sandra Smith, both of Mount Vernon; son-in-law, James Evans of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Paul, Kriss (Bobby), Amy (Dan), Tracie (Dennis) and Jay (Melissa); five great-grandchildren, Shelby (Caleb), Zach, Aceynia, Liliana and Olivia; along with two great-great-grandchildren, Rylee and Payslee

She was preceded in death by husband, George W. Brown; daughter, JoAnn Evans; brother, Howard Burr; and two sisters, Ethel Beymer and Dorothy Fry.

Friends may call Friday, May 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
