MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon boys volleyball team is finding its groove.

After a 4-5 start against some of the best teams in the state of Ohio, the Yellow Jackets claimed their sixth straight victory Monday with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 home win over Hilliard Bradley.

Mount Vernon (10-5) was led at the net by sophomore Spencer Stanley with 10 kills. Stanley also had four service aces and was second on the team with five digs.

Stanley spent the offseason working on his game with the Vanguard traveling team out of Columbus. It showed on Monday, as virtually every aspect of his game has improved in the past year.
